Keren Granados

Hi, I’m Keren! I went from being a researcher trying to find cures against microscopic bugs to now becoming a software engineer debugging code.

I have 4 years of experience in microbiology research and 3 years of experience working in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry. There are actually a lot of connections between being a researcher and a programmer. In the lab when you get an unexpected result, you change one variable at a time, repeat tests, and re-analyze your results. In programming when you get a bug, you backtrack your steps, change one variable at a time (maybe add a console.log here and there), and rerun your code until you find what went wrong. I love being the “detective” and finding the root cause of problems and my science background helped sharpen those critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

I now strive to apply all those skills to help create solutions to business problems using technologies I’ve worked with such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Java, Git/GitHub, and Jasmine
