Job Description: This position is a trust-based, remote working opportunity for a JavaScript Developer. While we have an office in Brighton, which you are welcome to work from, you are not expected to go there every day, week or month.

Skills Range: Essential

  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and CSS Preprocessors (LESS or SASS).
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of modern front-end reactive JavaScript libraries (React and Vue).
  • Experience with RESTful Services and APIs.
  • Experience of cross-browser, responsive web development.

Technical Skills - Ideal

  • Experience with building Single Page Applications.
  • Be able to produce WAI Accessibility content and semantic HTML markup.
  • Experience with animations and UI libraries to enhance interactivity.
  • Understanding of Redux and Immutable Update Patterns
  • Ability to create reusable Components and Modules
  • Experience with Git and Version Control Systems.
  • Experience with implementing features into existing products using provided designs and client specifications.
  • Familiarity with Node.js and front-end build tools (Webpack/Gulp).
  • Experience debugging and testing across devices and browsers.

Person Specification: If you are a Web developer looking to get your first role as a JavaScript Developer, this position is not for you unless you can show your capability on the above. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has worked with JavaScript before as part of their core role.
