AWS launches DocumentDB and gives open source the middle finger - Do you Agree?

This is no different than RedHat charging support contracts for Linux; github charging for private repos when git is free; I had a third off the top of my head but I forgot lol

People will pay a premium for something if it comes with a nice comfy blanket that says “support” on it. When shit hits the fan, as it often does, it’s nice to know you have someone to call or email.

Further - not really any different then AWS rds solution is it ? Maria db is free and open source, and Aurora is based on it I believe. They’ve been doing this for years; it just finally hit all of you guys close to home.
