i am new here and, would like to get stories and discuss what the best hardware, software and distribution people use for a live webcast.

background, we have a django site on digital ocean and expect to run a live webcast with up to 100 viewers (hopefully more) We will have a dedicated studio room. It would be nice to have a video call in, and we definitely need a text chat.

Initial research has pointed me to the following:

Hardware: existing:computer, canon dslr. Will buy: lighting, video capture card, microphone. Possibly: more lighting, soundproofing and audio mixer, green screen.

Software - existing: Premiere, Final Cut, etc. Will acquire: OBS (open source) ... what else is useful?

Distribution - somewhat unsure, candidates:

YouTube, FB Live, Periscope, Own site

If own site, is a third party needed or is my own webrtc server better. I have used temasys / skylink for video chat; however, I do not think it will scale easily.
