Could someone please explain how to build API using MEAN stack and also how to convert existing module into API ?

I am new to MEAN stack, but not aware of the API, how to build and sell it. There's lots of resources available but couldn't make use of it effectively. I am ready to learn step by step. Is there anyone who can teach me?
