CSS animation problem...

So I have a hover animation that I am trying to attach to a .png file ...

something was weird with it ... so I started running tests and when I changed the background color I quickly saw that there was this big block behind my image that is the start point for my hover .... I am trying to figure out how to shrink that down to JUST the size of my image...

anyone have some advise?
