Google Glass, the stepping stone to VR/AR
so google glass... what ever happened to that?
The first time we saw google glass open for the public was back in May of 2014 ending that year a with a total of 800,000 units being sold. Not much for a population so large but, what lead to their stop on being stopped, was it the chip shortage, competitors or just bad product?
Honestly, I believe it was just too ahead of its time. Nowadays we have virtual reality and in a few years the Meta-verse. Some have big expectations for it, other aren't sure how they feel about it and some just don't have an interest, google glass was definitely on the right track with the idea.
The size or design to them did not help them achieve this acception to the pubic but their objective wasn't the styling. Google glass's objective was to be build a set of glasses that include a sceen to a user's eyesight and bring possibilities to interact with the world.
