How do you think about location-based or country-based salary?

I found a tweet of Microsoft staff saying that his/her salary would be determined (reduced) by the company. I am also facing a similar problem. I am from a developing country. And some jobs offer remote. I am perfectly fine with all tests and interviews except negotiating salary. There is 10 times salary difference between where I am and where the company is. Most companies that offer remote jobs to a country where I live, wants only to offer salary based on a country where I live.

I don't know whether it is new normal or a normal thing or a fair thing.

How do you thinking about it?
