Jekyll always! It's pretty widely used and easy to manage.

Recently I became big fan of Hugo. It is fast and easy generator written in Go.

Definitely check out hexo.js: hexo.io

I am a node.js developer and after trying out other static js frameworks (wintersmith and harp) hexo was the clear winner. They also have an incredible assortment of prebuilt themes to choose from. tranquil-peak-hexo-theme (github.com/LouisBarranqueiro/tranquilpeak-h..) is particularly impressive and actively maintained. I am using it now for my personal site: cleechtech.github.io
