Which one is the better PHP framework — Laravel or CodeIgniter?

I worked with CodeIgniter for my thesis and I'm receiving lots of feedbacks that Laravel is better.

Before I start developing again for my startup. I'd like to know the feedbacks of hashnode people to find out which one is better.
