Why is IBM DB2 not very popular?

I have been in touch with IBM DB2 recently. And some of the features can be really awesome, such as complex type support. My question is, in my short 3 years career I have seen this in any of my work place. So, assuming it is not that widely used, why is not more people using it as their database system?
