A QA professional for years, nowadays mostly doing automation as an SDET, in mostly "boring", mainstream languages and frameworks (e.g. Python, TS/JS, Go), I've been interested in Functional Programming (FP) even before I knew that's what it is, doing math using Mathematica 5.0 on my university's computers in a (failed) attempt to complete a degree in chemistry. While I never got into the chem industry, doing a QA bootcamp way back then, turned me onto software development, and I've been teaching myself how to code, preferably in a structured manner ever since. Per my interest in FP, my most loved languages, off the clock, are F#, Haskell, Elixir, and Clojure. I know Scala, obviously. Let's not speak of that one ever again! 馃槀
While I'm most experienced in QA automation (as SDET), I'd love to also be a core developer. I believe a specific programming language and/or framework are transferable knowledge, that can be picked up in a month of hands-on coding, and at any rate, if there's one thing I like is learning and trying out technologies I don't already know.
