This is so me! I feel being an introvert is awesome. 💯🔥
Yes, we love being introverts! 💜
It took me a long time to realize how much of an introvert I am. I spent years working in professions that required me to be in the spotlight from sales positions to marketing to public speaking. But even then I always found myself retreating back into my own corner as soon as the work was done.
It was only after careful introspection (years later) that I realized that this was, because I enjoyed and valued my alone-time -- however rare that was.
One of the key signs for me was that it always felt like I had to summon all of my energy in order to get myself up on a stage or in front of a mic or camera. And this became extremely exhausting the more I did it.
It took me a long time to realize that I was an introvert masquerading as an extrovert, because that is what the industry and society was expecting of me.
In either case, thank you for sharing this, I think this is a difficult conversation for many to have and even harder for some to accept. I am sure this will help many people feel more comfortable with their true selves and that is worth it!
Thank you, Gaurang! Your journey resonates with mine as well. So many times I had to pretend something that I'm not. And then finally found out what it really is, and there's nothing wrong with me. I think the culture of personality or the social pressure to have those certain characteristics in order to be successful made us ignore what we really feel and be something else.
I'm glad to hear that this post would help others to accept themselves and feel comfortable!
Amazing article, Sumudu I have always considered myself an ambivert but my introvert side always takes the big percentage. I loved this article it's like you were talking to me directly. Thank you for writing this great way to start the morning 🤗
