I got the same problem and you saved my life! How did you find out the solution? and is there any way to keep the strict mode on and have the markers render? Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the comment. I found the solution after digging really deep a year ago. Anyway the marker will also show normally on run build as well so you don't have to remove the strictmode. It's just when you are in development and is in strictmode, the marker won't show.
