Hi Lewis,

This is a great tutorial!

Is this monitor compatible with Windows 10/11 laptops like Dell Precision or any other make?

Thanks,

Ch

Hey! Thanks for the feedback 馃檪 The converter board turns the iMac display into a regular HDMI or DP monitor, so yes it should work with any device

Hey - thanks a lot for such a swift reply! What about monitor controls like brightness etc. and P3 gamut support?

Pariska Salama Monitor controls are activated via a daughter board attached to the convertor board via a ribbon cable. In my last picture you can see it resting on the iMac stand.

From my testing I am able to get P3 colours working yes. I am connected via displayport

Lewis Lovelock Oh, I see, thanks! I read somewhere that there's actual difference between 2014 and 2015 screens, something like 2014 models can't support P3 gamut after this kind of upgrade. Do you know more about this and maybe some other issues? Sorry for so many questions, it's just I would like to learn as much as possible before I even start with a project like this. Thanks again!

Hi Lewis, helpful explanation! I'm wondering if the imac speakers worked after you converted?

Thanks

Hi Taylee Buttigieg I didn't actually put the iMac speakers back in, but the conversion board has a header for the speakers should you want to keep them.
