I'm a software engineer excited by questions both big and small, abstract and concrete.

My curiosity has led me to work within a variety of web development paradigms including backend, frontend, and devops. The more concepts and technologies I learn, the more I see how very similar they are under the surface. That's what I love about learning new things!

When it comes to languages, Python is my first love, but I also enjoy Rust and Typescript.

I'm endlessly awestruck by how we humans can make stuff work given the immense complexity of our internal and external worlds. Good software re-packages this complexity in a way that helps people and changes the world in positive ways.

Some of my favorite engineering thought leaders include Sandi Metz, Dave Farley, Jessica Kerr, and Kent Beck.

In another life I was a professional guitarist and a member of a HazMat team. I love the plant-based lifestyle, the outdoors, animals, spiritual practice, my wonderful girlfriend, and our 5 cats.
