Talent is overestimated

It's nice to say "You are gifted!" or "They're a natural!" because it's true and it's a genuine compliment. We should absolutely support people, especially kids, who show a clear aptitude in something. They need others to confirm what they might not see.

That's not to the exclusion of people who don't though. This reminds me how Jesus taught that each person is blessed with diverse gifts, all of which can help humanity. He also taught that God expects us to nurture and grow our talents. It's one reason we homeschool our kids instead of sending them into the public education factory.
