[Alexa Skill] Limits of visual programming apps

Hey,

I am interested in building some Alexa voice apps - I want to do this quite quickly so visual programming apps seem an obvious choice.

My question is this really. Can achieve as much with these as if you were coding it from scratch?

Any one got any experience (opinions/thoughts?) on visual programming paradigms in general, as opposed to just coding it. Not as good, generally can't achieve as much etc etc?
