Announcing Hashnode + daily.dev integration

If you are a writer on Hashnode, there is an exciting update for you. I am happy to announce that we have formed a partnership with our friends at daily.dev to give more exposure to your articles.

What's happening

In case you are unaware, daily.dev is a browser extension that makes it super easy to consume programming news. They have thousands of sources and surface interesting articles so that you as a developer can stay relevant and informed. Here's how they define themselves:

daily.dev delivers the best programming news every new tab. It is a browser extension that boosts your professional growth. We will rank hundreds of qualified sources for you so that you can hack the future.

As an independent blogger, it's difficult for you to get your blog indexed on daily.dev. You need to go through through their approval & submission process to get your blog listed as a public source. However, with the partnership between daily.dev and Hashnode your articles will be picked by daily.dev automatically and be distributed to their 40K+ weekly active users. Sounds fun, right?

Fun fact: This integration has been in place for the last two weeks. You will be amazed to know that daily.dev drove 36K+ views to Hashnode powered blogs during this period.

If you have connected Google Analytics to your Hashnode blog, you can check how much traffic you've received from daily.dev so far!

How do articles get picked up by daily.dev

  • Unlock your blog on Hashnode, if you haven't done so already
  • Publish your articles as usual
  • Your article surfaces on our /recent tab and our readers start engaging with your content
  • If it gets sufficient reactions from the community (20+ unique reactions at the moment + some quality control logic), it's automatically picked up by daily.dev.
  • Once it's on daily.dev, their readers discover your article on their feed and you enjoy extra traffic!

Here's a quick example of how their feed looks like:

You can see some posts from Hashnode blogs. daily.dev also has a commenting feature. So, expect to see some interactions and engagement on your posts as well.

In 24 hours, 10-15 top posts from Hashnode usually trend on daily.dev. We are still experimenting and the number might change in future.

Future plans

We are big fans of daily.dev ourselves and are looking to have deeper collaborations in future. I am not able to reveal more details as of now, but it involves badges 🎉.

Extra traffic is always motivating and we are doing everything we can to boost your readership. With this collaboration with daily.dev we expect to boost your traffic significantly. If you are thinking of starting a blog, now is the best time!
