Hello, now that you have landed on this page, I assume that you want to develop a website. Be it for your project that you always aspired to do, your startup, or your career. You might have come across several resources, but, if you are here, I believe that you are looking for something else as well. So, let's figure out are you at the right place. If you want an answer to any of the following questions, you are at the right place.

  1. Is web development difficult?
  2. Do we need absolute mastery in programming to do web development?
  3. All my friends are web developers, isn't it an overlearned skill?
  4. Is web development the only type of development?
  5. What is the roadmap of being a web developer?

Let's answer all the questions because questions empower the community.

Is web development difficult?

First things first. Is web development tough? Well, let's rewind your life. At the age of 10, did you saw UPSC paper and thought that damn, this is too difficult! No, you haven't. Because you knew that you haven't studied these topics yet. Same with web development. It is not difficult it is just that you haven't got to know about this topic yet.

Do we need absolute mastery in programming to do web development?

Well, web development by a non-programmer. That doesn't sound right, no? Honestly, it is like saying that Microsoft doesn't hire non-programmers. Previous coding knowledge will indeed help, but it is not a necessity. As people can find their ways to get into Microsoft, you can find your way to develop websites. And if you can't, this series is here for you.

All my friends are web developers, is it an overlearned skill?

That's true! Everybody from a computer science field is learning web development, and most of them are grabbing some offers. The fact is that even if Web Development is an overlearned skill, it is relevant. And as the digital boom is expanding, there is no stopping it for coming years. Hence, the world will always require good developers.

Note: Good developers and developers are as interchangeable as Java and Javascript. [If you are from a non-programming background, hold on for some time, and you will get the reference].

Is web development the only type of development?

No. There are multiple types of development. But, web and app development are the most popular ones. And why start with web development? On a conceptual level, it is the easiest thing that you can begin. You can learn programming through web development instead of another way around.

What is the roadmap of being a web developer?

So here is the answer that you might have read about 1000 times. But, okay, it's a new person writing, so what new can we add? What about the list of resources? Oh! that is also covered on the internet. Let's see how much time you can cover it.

  1. HTML - 2 weeks
  2. CSS - 2 weeks
  3. Javascript - 3 weeks
  4. React.js or any other framework that you want - 4 weeks
  5. Node.js, PHP, or any other backend language
  6. Databases

As it gets down the list, the development gets more logic-oriented. Hence, the timeline is dependent on your logic-building process. Now, where to learn it. Well, the internet is a great place to learn. But, you will be seeing blogs where I will be discussing everything in detail and the simplest style.

I hope that you have enjoyed the blog. Please leave a comment for your feedback. And will see you in "Developing Website as a non-programmer" series.
