With the recent cancellations of open source events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the future of the FOSS community is unknown. The FOSS Responders initiative was formed to help open source projects and foundations impacted by COVID-19 receive financial assistance and guidance.
In short, FOSS Responders can help projects:
- Connect with funders (for example via the May 22nd FOSS Funders event)
- Amplify existing crowdfunding campaigns
- Gain access to emergency funds (via the FOSS Responders Fund)
- Recruit volunteers to help fill gaps
- Get access to online community event guides
