Hello.

Recently, I often see large image or interactive contents which need full screen browser window resulted by data-visualization. By the way, when I want to see a data that summarized well is not only time to critical decision-making meeting on future strategies in a calm room. For example, is a time to drinking a cup of coffee in rest time, to waiting for the cash register at the convenience store or before to leave the private room of the toilet, and so on. In such situation, there are no big screen. I maybe have only small device like smartphone or smartwatch.

Other hand, I think, generally, that work in data-visualization need bit long time. It may means that the effort is not worth the cost. Here is one more important point for that situation, the data what I need don't have to be genereted by following visualization method.

  • Choice carefully by the amount of data, bias, or any other characteristics noticed in the data.
  • Putted on a subjective thoughts message that of person who made data-visualization.

Instead of these, I want timely summary. You may say "That is not recently-talked 'data-visualization'. That's maybe just a small bar chart.". Yeah, in one aspect, that is true. However, making large data human readable is an important part of data-visualization. I know one example matched to above I want. It is Activity ring in Apple Watch. スクリーンショット 2019-04-22 6.51.06.png

If it was a simple bar chart, I may don't care for my activities. It's also so If it couldn't look without PC on my desk. So I think that its compact and beautiful appearance makes sense.

I'm interested in how to visualize data with high portabilities. Is there any systematic knowledge about that?
