Nice having you all here again. Hope I didn’t keep you all waiting for too long? Yea! I know you’re really excited to join the competition so I’m not going to keep you all waiting.

If you haven’t and would like to learn more about the Imagine Cup competition, check out my earlier post here.

How can you be part of the competition?

To get started,

  • Go to imaginecup.microsoft.com and click ‘Register for 2020’,
  • Sign in with your email address,
  • Form a team of maximum 3 persons, come up with a project idea and create a team on the Imagine Cup website,
  • Then submit.

On the next page, you’ll have to fill in your team’s info. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to write about your project and your team. It is important that you use this opportunity to sell yourself, your team and your project to the world.

In the ‘About Your Project’ section, start by writing about the problem you’re trying to solve, then talk extensively about your solution and how it would positively impact the world.

Guess how many other competitors also participating in this competition? This might shock you, but currently there are close to 2 million other competitors. Don’t let that discourage you though, you can still make it. My point is, sell your project to the world.

Don’t also forget to mention how you and your team plan to sustain your project in the future and please when writing this, make sure your plans are realistic and achievable.

In the ‘About Your Team’ section, start by writing about your team members and their specialties. Don’t forget to also write about the different roles each member of your team has played in making sure your project becomes a success.

In the ‘Social Channels’ section, fill in correctly the links to your team’s social media handles. Please make sure your social media handles speak nicely about you, your team and your project. They go a long way in telling people about your project and show them how serious you and your team are. Who knows someone might be ready to sponsor your project!

In the ‘Team Photo’ and ‘Image Gallery’ sections, upload pictures that talk about your project. Be sure to upload very clear pictures, this is another way to show how serious you are with the project.

Awesome! Congratulations! Step 2 completed. Now you’ve successfully registered your team. Time to start working on your project.

Oooooh! I’ve got lots of other things to tell you but I can’t just afford to weigh you down with too much details now and by the way I need to rest too.

I’ll be back on with some more infos sometime soon. Watch out! Until then,

continue working hard to make your ideas count!
