Should Hashnode support maths (using KaTeX) and allow us to discuss and have doubts about maths, physics and TeX here?

  • Many programmers are computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists and write in TeX.
  • Maths is important for back-end programming languages. Imagine using lambda calculus, bounded and free variables and reduction rules for artificial intelligence, machine learning and then in the games written in certain programming languages. Physics too.
  • TeX is not a programming language, but “is intentionally Turing-complete (it has conditionals, loops, and recursion), but while it can be made to do amazing things, TeX code tends to be unreadable and painful to debug” (Eric Raymond, 2008). It is widely used by IT areas students for thesis and other scientific papers, and also for hobby.
