I am thinking a lot about hiring, and interviews these days. The following set of tweets made me hungry for more food for thought regarding this matter.

The gist of the discussion that happened on twitter is that the ideal way of designing an interview process is to centre it at a cultural perspective, which reflects your company; and taking into account the corresponding tradeoffs!

When I applied to this company called Eventbrite many years ago; I was given a take home assignment. What was particularly amazing about Eventbrite, and their interview process; was a set of engineers went through my submission, and got back to me with a bunch of feedback points, hinting at what my solution lacked from a "production" level standpoint... which was quite awesome!

Quid Pro Quo! I get something for all the time spent on designing a solution — amazing actionable insights from people who are smarter than I am!

I've chosen to go forward with this "Eventbrite" model of hiring, for now!

I want to hear your thoughts on hiring, especially the screening processes! What worked for you, what didn't, and why? Thank you! :)
