What do I need to understand before learning backend languages?

I've started learning Python and went through a few tutorials until I realize that I don't even know what I don't know. So what should I learn before learning backend languages (something like HTTP requests, CLI, etc).

Can I also have some tutorial recommendations? Thanks!
