Hello. I am Majorie Najjombwe, a 24 year old female Ugandan, nutritionist by profession with a very big passion for science and innovation. I recently graduated from university and I have been caught up in the process of job searching which is very frustrating especially at a time when the whole world is just recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the wide range of opportunities in tech, I decided to pursue software development through the on going boot camp by the Kanzu Code Foundation. I believe that taking up this skill set will be a great addition towards my career path and here's why.
Wide range of career options. Compared to other areas of study, software development offers the ability to work in different industries ranging from healthcare software to video games.
High demand for software developers. In this fast-paced world, everything is taking up digital and online operations. This means that different industries are taking up the need to have their own software to enhance their online presence and this is where software developers come in handy.
Women in tech. This has me more excited than ever before. The mere fact that I am a woman, I wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity.
The beauty about software development is that you don't have to know it all right at the start. It is an everyday learning experience which makes it awesome.
