I play volleyball in a hobby-mixed team for many years now. Now that I'm old the results are two meniscal tears and a screwed right shoulder from spiking. I added a good amount (3 times a week for more than an hour each) of barbell strength training more recently (almost a year now) to support playing volleyball. The idea: strengthen tendons and muscles to allow my body the strenuous jumping, turning, ... and additionally alleviate/prevent back issues from all-day sitting in front of my monitors. Further I have lost 60 pound primarily through intermittent fasting (together with my gall bladder) and I'm somewhat nutrition/health obsessive, now: calorie counting, meal planning, cooking, baking etc. with proper macro distribution ... Ehmm, yes, so back to your question: don't play volleyball, too taxing. But do strength training, general fitness stuff, and use your time to eat and drink healthy ...
