About

I’m a scholar–practitioner working at the intersection of ethics, religion, and organisational delivery. My focus is how moral frameworks shape economic behaviour, governance, and day-to-day Agile practice. I’m the creator of Ihsan Agile, an open-source Islamic Agile framework that adds ethical overlays to Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, helping Muslim-led teams embed values like intention, stewardship, consultation, excellence, and justice into everyday delivery—without changing existing roles or methods. My work is grounded in long-term research into religion and economic life, including doctoral research (PhD Classics, University of Toronto) on belief, risk, and economic behaviour, and postgraduate work in Islamic finance (Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance: Shariah, INCEIF University) and charity marketing and fundraising (MSc Charity Marketing and Fundraising, Bayes Business School Centre for Charity Effectiveness). Ihsan Agile extends this scholarship into modern organisational settings, bridging the gap between ethical theory and real delivery systems.

I'm supporting organisations piloting Ihsan Agile, a free open-source framework that helps Muslim-led teams embed Islamic values—niyyah (intention), iḥsān (excellence with God-consciousness), maṣlaḥah (public good)—into daily Agile practices. Current state: Core Principles are grounded in Qur'an and Sunnah. Recently received Muslim Open Source Foundation's highest evaluation yet (67/70). What we need now: real-world piloting of the Ihsan Agile Facilitator (IAF) role in live organisations. What I provide for pilot organisations: -Training and facilitation support as you implement the IAF role and Ihsan Agile framework -Adaptation to your specific context -Ongoing consultation and check-ins -Recognition as founding Certified Ihsan Agile Facilitators -Community connection with other pilot organisations Piloting needs: 2-3 sprint cycles, openness to making ethics explicit, honest feedback, at least one person for the IAF role (can overlay onto existing Scrum Master/team lead).
