MERN starter is really nice but also very sorely lacking a user DB, registration, signin and profile pages. And a sidebar nav, as well as search feature for the forum posts. Share and social logins would really help too, and it all exists on HN site.
If there is somewhere that we can look to find these features in the HN codebase, please point them out, and how best to go about adding them to the starter app. thx, J-

MERN is just a starter project that helps you get started with isomorphic apps. Adding things like sidebar navs, forum posts, profiles etc (if that's what one wants to do) is up to the developers.
