I’ve been wondering about this a lot lately.
A lot of people in tech still look productive on the outside.
They’re shipping. Posting. Learning. Working. Applying. Building.
But internally?
I think many are just surviving.
Trying to stay relevant. Trying not to burn out. Trying to believe the effort still means something.
So I’ll ask directly:
Are you still genuinely passionate about tech or mostly just trying to keep up now?
No polished answers. Just honest ones.

well there was a time where anything tech just excited me, and i'm on the verge of it now. This " you're in a race" phase started in college and me being myself did not wanted to be a rat in this race, which you are right everybody just want that end score of settling for a good company, a suitable package, the control and its kind of the only way now for us mediocers i guess.

Unfortunately, software engineering has become boring, recently it was so fun when you have to really BUILD your app, not giving a prompt to AI to build it for you, you were aware of every single line of your code. so I think this is why people have lost their passionate
