I'm a software developer and is planning to upgrade my tools. Can you help me guys? which would be more practical.
PC will give you best performance but no portability, where as Macbook can give you balance of both.
Mac, because it just works...You can tell I am a bit of a Apple fan. I used to be on windows and development just always seemed hard..now i'm on mac things just work, no hours of config and searching google for fixes.
If you occasionally meet with clients, buy a Macbook air just to show off. Else build a custom box.
If you have the time, and patience to assemble your own rig, then that's the best way to go.
Else stick with the mac. Please check out super high rigged older MacBook pro, you might get some handy ports.
Since I’m moving away myself from Apple I would currently buy the Lenovo ThinkPad 13. 13,3” FHD Touch non-glare Display, 512 NVMe SSD, 16 GB (32 GB Max) RAM, i7 7500U for about 1200€. Best bang for the buck I’ve seen so far. Have also a new HP zbook studio from my employer but personally I would take the Lenovo.
A stationary PC will always be best value/performance for the money

This is because this feature was designed for Mac computers, I suppose. Do you have it too? Anyway, I am using PC so I can't take you by the hand and help you. But I found https://setapp.com/ that has a very good tutorial that will help you with your time machine back ups. Try it and let me know if it works, ok?
