I keep noticing something while building AllInOneTools.net :
A lot of online tools turn a 20-second task into a 5-minute process.
Need to convert an image?
→ Create account
Need a QR code?
Need to format text?
→ Start free trial
So I started building with one rule:
Open → Do → Close
No login. No onboarding. No “unlock feature” popup for basic tasks.
Now I’m curious:
What makes you instantly leave a tool website?
And what makes you come back the second time?

Usually, no. If the task takes 30 seconds, signup should come after value, not before it. Let users complete the small action first, then ask them to create an account only if saving, sharing, or returning later actually matters.
Honestly, this is exactly what most tool websites are missing today. People usually come to a utility site for one quick task, not to go through signups, onboarding, or paywalls. The “Open → Do → Close” idea feels very user-focused. Personally, I leave instantly when a tool asks me to create an account for something basic or floods the page with ads and popups. What makes me come back the second time is speed, simplicity, and trust — when a tool works instantly, has a clean UI, and lets me finish my task without unnecessary friction, I remember it and use it again.
