Problem I found with remote-work is that a lot of UK and US firms are looking but their notion of 'remote' is someone local, or at least in the country. It gets annoying when most jobs have 'remote' tag but at the end of the description they specify the location.
I've found Linkedin to be the most reliable, although gigs I've gotten last only couple of weeks to a month max.
