My three main three advice are:
SHOW, DON'T TELL: If you want the job, show that you can do the job. Show your previous projects. You can pick from projects during your studies, personal projects... That's a great way to show that you have the skills that they are looking for...
APPLY FOR INTERNSHIPS: Sometimes applying for an internship could be a bit easier than a fulltime job. There is less pressure with an intern than a fulltime employee, and you can use that at your advantage showing the skills you got!
-NETWORK: Go to local meetups, local developer events, conferences and start talking to people. Everyone is hiring and talking to people can really open doors...
Hope it helps!
