I was trying to reach beginners to open source. I soon learned that hackernews and reddit were not the right places for it.
I started posting it in blog posts and articles related to the same subject
Later some awesome people in the community found it and shared it on twitter and medium.
I got a lot of traffic by adding it to hacktoberfest this year
