Build new long lasting habits is far from easy. I started to track stuff I'd like to do more often, not necessarly I want to do everyday, but I think help me becoming a better me, and it works ๐ What tools do you use to help you track habits ?

This has to be one of my favourite quotes. I think something as simple as learning something new is really really hard when it's not a habit. Like you said, it's indeed far from easy.
Surface level knowledge in JavaScript is something I suffered from last year (And there are still many concepts I don't know about, I could get stuff done, but if you asked me six months ago how garbage collection worked in NodeJS, I wouldn't know the answer back then). The solution? Pick up a random topic and spend twenty minutes on it everyday.
How do I keep track of it? I ask my mother during my daily call with her to ask me whether or not I've learnt something new today. This is not per se a tool, but it works fine for me. Someone to keep me on my toes in the pursuit of routine. :)
