Mon-Fri:
7:00/7:30am: Wake up. Drink some iced coffee while feeding my guinea pig a small piece of green bell pepper.
8:30am-4:30pm: Work in-house as Lead Designer/Front-End Developer.
4:30pm-5:30pm: Travel home, stop to relax and grab a snack.
5:30pm-7:00pm: Clean up a bit, watch a show I recorded while spending some more time with my guinea pig.
7:00pm-8:30pm: Check accounts, pay bills, answer emails, check on friends and family, etc.
8:30pm-10:30pm: Continue a current track or course I'm taking, do some research on various things I'm interesting in learning, work a bit on a personal/contracted project, handle JIRA/Confluence issues related to my company.
10:30pm-???: Backup VPSs, make sure git repos are committed, wrap-up for the night. Extend working on JIRA/Confluence issues related to my company. Sometimes the previous stuff can make this go until 12:00am-2:30am before I get to bed. Most often between 12:00am and 1:00pm.
Saturday & Sunday:
Approx. 10:00am/10:30am: Drink some iced coffee while feeding my guinea pig a small piece of green bell pepper.
11:00am-8:00pm: Teaching workshops and working on personal/contracted projects (focusing on those could possibly take most of the day), along with a random - but fairly regular - mix of various things like designing concept art, illustrating, writing documentation/stories/screenplays, sculpting, helping out with computer or networking chores. I also, continue a current track or course I'm taking, do some research on various things I'm interesting in learning, handle JIRA/Confluence issues related to my company. Check in on social and online properties, performing any necessary maintenance. Laundry also gets done somewhere along the line.
8:00pm-12:00am: Anything from the above list other than teaching a workshop. Hitting Team Fortress 2 or Heroes of the Storm for a breather. Guinea pig time.
PS: This was an approximate list. I have no wife or kids, and will sometimes take a day off to relax. I'm in my 40's though, and took enough of a break, with a bong, throughout my 20's. Everything on my daily schedule is governed by a strict "friends and family come first" policy.
