What do you do keep improving yourself and learning new things (not just tech related) when not working?
I sometimes go to these Youtube channels:
Or check some websites like Engadget, Slashgear and of course Hashnode.
Last night my wife joked that I was made of:
I think that's not really a fair assessment, I must spend at least 10% of my time snuggling cats! :3
I do spend a lot of time coding: whether paid work, open source, or researching. When I'm not at the computer, I'm usually:
Lately we've been having a lot of fun experimenting with coffee! We've tried making our own cold brew overnight in the fridge, and have begun experimenting with adding spices (like cinnamon) in during the brew :D You can never have too many different coffee options!
After development, I spend most of my time on medium and on weekends, I spend time learning with FCC-Hyd community.
Anything with my hands and away from my computers.
I have 1 last bedroom to gut and remodel this year; down to the studs, new windows, insulation, electrical, door, drywall, etc...
I've always been into cars but this will be the first year I attempt paint correction. I've been watching a lot of youtube videos on how to remove swirl marks, water marks, scratches, etc... I've bought the tools and polishes / glazes / clay bars - just waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer. I'll usually spend a half-full weekend day washing the wife's and my cars every other weekend or so. Not that leases need to be maintained that meticulously; but I enjoy doing it and it's a great upper body workout.
I have an indoor bike (Peloton) but again, when the weather breaks; I'll take my regular street bike and go out on the bike paths instead.
I belong from farming background and I go there on alternate week-end. We have three friends who is making sugarcane vinegar (50,000 ltr per year).
I recently bought a mountain bike. Lately, I have been planning to try out off-road biking.
In addition, I am trying to learn/improve other skills such as Content Marketing, Writing, learning a new language etc..

You have to believe in things that are not true. How else would they become?
I'm a father of two (even though my son is only two months old), so I don't have too many options. Oh wait, do I?
On weekdays after I put down my keyboard, me and my daughter go shopping. Arriving home we feed the dogs, have dinner, take a bath/shower, and go to sleep. Bo-o-ring. Luckily the little girl goes to kindergarten, so she gets enough play for the day.
Weekends are more interesting. We draw, paint, build stuff (LEGO anyone?), do chores (yes, even three year olds can do it, if you make it a game), hike, go to a beach, refurbish our house, and so on.
When you have kids it's hard to get bored. Also, if you have at least two kids, you will quickly learn a lot about concurrency and multithreading in general as a bonus.
