I am pretty new to how the finances work in startups or you can say anywhere. Pardon me if you found it to be an aimless question.
I have attended few meetups where Hashnode was a proud sponsor. I have used hashnode before but after going to those meetups I have started to use on a regular basis.
What I didn't understand was how does Hashnode generate revenue?
Because, you don't show any ads(as of now). And rarely, I have seen one of digital ocean though.
How do your business partners or investors see the future of Hashnode?
Hope Fazle or sandeep could answer this. Couldn't tag you directly as it was getting stuck when I choose a person to mention.

Hi klvenky.. Thanks for the question.
We are a venture-funded company and right now we are pre-revenue. Our thought process is that we need to create value first and build a community of developers that fosters knowledge sharing and individual growth.
We have a few ideas about monetization and revenue, but nothing is concrete as of now. Also, it is difficult to introduce a business model at such an early stage.
A business needs to make money and at some point, we will have a business model in place. However, we don't envision building an ad-funded community and that's the reason you don't see many ads on the platform (with DO as the only exception).
Our investors are very supportive and we are well funded. So, we are delaying monetization a bit and are focussing on value creation first.
Does that answer your question?
