Windows 10 and macOS (since Yosemite, I believe) have finally jumped on the bandwagon over the last few years.
I have a feeling that it's going to go past the screens, and be more about the input devices over the next decade. Dual touch-screen laptops, turned sideways for a wide 2x display, are on the way. Then, it's going to be about projected keyboards and touchpad surfaces. Eventually, I'm fairly sure, it will be about the surface you use beneath it - like a mouse pad - but rollout "placemats" for the projected keyboard and touchpads to be viewed on (as well as spots to charge wirelessly.)
