Such questions are usually asked to test your presence of mind.
I may reply politely "dontgiveyourpasswordtostrangers" :P
"incorrect". That way, when I type it wrong, it will say, "Your password is incorrect." LOL!
Seriously, though, never been asked this question. Doubt I ever will be.
I'd be really curious to learn in what kind of places such questions are asked. But you could just then reply it's four words all uppercase, in one word all lowercase. Such a question is probably not serious (at least I hope it's not), so replying with some humour will let you check it was not serious (if if was, go away!), and show them you have some humour too.
As a bonus:
:D
Sounds like something Dwight from The Office would ask... Hard to take that seriously.
+1 for Marco Alka 's answer. 1Password ftw.
"If you ask these questions, then this workplace is not the place for me"
Or just something silly like "penis"
Anyway... who asks these non-serious questions?
It should be something like this. "0OO0OO0".
"I don't know."
Simple as that. The human brain was not built to store 30 arbitrary characters for each and every account I own. I have a password manager to do stuff for me.
On that note, I want to recommend offline password managers, because who guarantees that your passwords are stored securely in the cloud? I use KeePassX ;)
Nice reply Susan ;)
I will write in a paper *********** and hand it over to the interviewer.
Luke Skywalker
My answer would be : "forgot"
