Hi Devs,
I'm interested to start 100daysofcoding challenge. I saw some people have published post on 100daysofcoding challenge. Before starting the challenge , did you make your own syllabus? Like to hear your experience. It will be very helpful for all the devs.
My experience with 100daysOfCode challenge is something I will want to do over and over again. I think it is one of the most disciplinary thing to do as a developer. And yes, thanks to freecodecamp for coming up with that awesome idea.
There is a popular saying that if you do something consistently for twenty one (21) days that it becomes a habit. Well, imagine doing that same thing for 100 days, it becomes a life style. At first, you will struggle to keep up, at least for the first couple of days, or weeks or months for some people. It took me 6 weeks to get used to setting out time to write my 100daysOfCode everyday. As soon as I surpassed that my 6week threshhold, everything became easier, writing code everyday became a normal something, I no longer struggle to do it. It kind of became second nature. Initially, you're the one pushing the zeal to write the code, all of a sudden, the zeal is now pushing you, like they say, the vision is now propelling and compelling you.
As for setting out a syllable. When I made up my mind to start 100daysOfCode, I decided to draw up a syllable too. Guess what? I never did...lol. I kept saying I will get a syllable, I will draft something. I never did, I never found one. Before I knew what was happening, a month is gone. Just like that and I never wrote any 100daysOfCode because I was waiting for a syllable. So what did I do. I got angry one day, opened my laptop, when straight to my tutorial videos and just clicked on any random folder and,, tadaa... it was a crash course on es6. That was how I started, I set up my workspace, and began with es6 crash course, before I was done with that course, I already knew what else to do. Until I got to a reasonably point where everything was clearer and I could draft out something for the next couple of weeks and so on.
So here's my advice. Freecodecamp.org has a syllable you can follow. I never knew--- would have saved myself some stress. But if you don't want to follow that of freecodecamp, then just start with any resource you have, videos, ebooks, hard copies, any topic of your choice, any language of your choice. Just take that first step and every other thing will surely fall into place. It is exciting.
P.S I document my daily 100daysOfCode as an article. I make an article out of all my learning. Doing so helps me understand better. You can give it a shot too.
