I've used both, GCE is by far simpler to use than AWS, both have great documentation, AWS has many more features than GCE, but mostly features I will never use, GCE has a much better and more intuitive UI, I also prefer the gcloud command line over aws cli.

AWS Policies for services are horrible... hope they will make it much more simpler to use. Such pain to get a simple bucket to work.
