Hello There.

I am Jesse and I write code and enjoy doing it!
I intern as a Software Developer for NIWA. We do water and atmospheric research.
Studying towards a Bachelor of Software Engineering at Victoria University. Big interest in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Advocate for open-source technologies; avid user of Twitter, Signal, Firefox, Thunderbird, Linux, ... (the list goes on)

The work with NIWA involves implementing web applications to showcase research from NIWA scientists to the public. We use an open-source tool stack, with applications like GeoServer, MapServer, Leaflet, NZODN.

Some of my hobby projects include Game development and Web Design. I like to stay up to date with new technologies and learn new languages to expand my horizons.

Outside of software, my interests include playing guitar, philosophy, history, psychology, astrophysics, being an Elon Musk fanboy, general nerdery and PC gaming.

I use this platform to share learned experiences and useful knowledge with others, so we can all learn together.
