I'm 33 now. I am just starting career as a back end developer. In the age of 28 I was started with front end career which I actually wasted a lot of time.
Though, I am still happy as if I can still move on good direction with my life.
So, 28 is not so late, considering some path in 33 is still not late. BTW, how I improve my career in a fast pace environment will matter. That's why I am learning as much as I can.
Thus, it would better to decide what you want to become in future. I set my mind to become Software Engineer though I am graduated in commerce field. It's why I started from the very beginning - the HTML things.
If you're already from IT background then choose what you want to actually become. Don't waste the time starting from the scratch.
And if you're not from an IT background like me then I will suggest you to start the career from the scratch though it might take years to accomplish the dream.
If you have no passion, then I will suggest you not to choose working as a software developer.
I have so much passion though my life is struggling so much to survive in the current market. And I'm still happy thinking that I'll one ... in the age of 50 - it's still not late :- I can give better life to my children.
