13th July is my first f2f interview. It is a startup using vue.js. They called me as I have mentioned React in my resume. The email they sent me is as follows
"The interview will consist of just an understanding of your background. Along, with that I will ask you some theoretical questions to test your knowledge and have you write some short programs to test your skill."
Can someone please guide me as what theoretical questions and programs I should expect and prepare?
I can't speak for a React test specifically, but I've seen developers work through thought experiments. The interviewer will ask if how you'd debug a certain issue, and have you walk him through your process. They want to see what you do, like checking the DevTools / console, or if you have the skill to Google the right issue.
For a React-centric interview, I'd expect some questions like:
What about for application X that needs to do Y?
Or more technical questions like:
Basically anything you'd find in the React docs and Dan Abramovs twitter.
I'd also expect some questions about associated libraries or dependencies, like Redux or Flow. If you get questions about super specific stuff like Styled Components, they ask at that point to see how comfortable you are with their toolset -- it won't impede on your ability to get the job, just gets extra brownie points if ya know it.
You can find a Github repo here with sample React interview questions:
Hope that helps! π

Don't lie, if you don't know, say you don't know. Be confident. Try to make it more of a conversation rather than a question answer thing, employers wanna see a bit of personality in the face to face too. And remember to do a little bit of research about the company, to show you actually care at least a little about where you might be working.
Hopefully you're not going to be doing a whiteboard thing - those are really crap.
