Hey everyone,
I am very curious if anyone can recommend some legitimate online schools where I can earn a degree online in fields like : computer science, cyber security, or computer programming.
Thank you so much everyone!
Those are broad areas. I mostly only have experience with programming (JS, js frameworks etc) but Udemy has been somewhat solid as far as course offerings.
I also highly recommend stuff by Wes Bos: wesbos.com/courses His stuff is great.
Also, anyone wanting to truly understand Javascript, I strongly recommend Kyle Simpson's You Don't Know JS: github.com/getify/You-Dont-Know-JS
I don't have any solid recs for CS, and cyber security though, as I haven't dug into those areas.
Its quite hard to find a decent place online for this as I've found there's almost nothing. If you are going to use the following:
Udemy or Sololearn, make sure the courses are up to date as a lot of them i've found is not.
The best one I can say is Pluralsight.com its premium but well worth it. It gives you access to cybersecurity and my other half I believe he's done all of his certified Cisco qualifications on there.
It's expensive but well worth it!
When it comes to being a programmer it's actually really rare for people to ask you what programming degree did you earn, you'll most likely find people ask you what projects did you make (PC/Phone programs, websites, data base, security systems...etc).
Most of the online schools does give you an online degree but their degree isn't really that big of a deal in the programming field (just like most of the other degrees are), people sign up for online coding schools for the knowledge they get from these schools, not the degree. if you want here are some of the best online programming school that are well known for being legit (I tried some of them myself)
Data camp datacamp.com
Code academy codecademy.com
SoloLearn (it's free) sololearn.com
Lynda (not sure if it gives a degree though, you should probably check) lynda.com
Udemy (this one isn't really a coding school but a learning website for pretty much anything. what makes different from online schools is that instead of paying for a monthly subscription, in Udemy you only pay one time for the course you want enroll in, plus some courses offer 30 days money back guaranteed on it)

stuff ;)
you can just do distance learning some universities support it.
if you really want to get a proper education and you got the time I would recommend a real degree.
if you have to work and need to be pragmatic and not academic throw a dart on a learning platform :).
