What's the most familiar theme for you. Tell us your opinion. I'm more familiar with light themes, but I use flux to reduce unwanted glare comes from white background, and it gives me perfect adjustment for my eyes.
Another thing is that, some people say that white background is not good for our eyes. 🤔. Is it true?
I spent the better part of two decades coding on computers where light colours on a black background were the ONLY choice. Mix in the poorly formed characters, blurryness, and eye-strain INHERENT in the approach, I don't miss it.
I've come to really prefer dark text on a light background -- but then I still prefer monochromatic code since I find colour syntax highlighting to be UTTERLY USELESS since my eyes can't focus on / read the every changing rainbow-striping of the code. It's another of the things people constantly praise that I go "just how the devil do you even read that?!?"
Dark themes just make it worse, particularly with the "love" some people have for colour contrasts far, FAR, FAR below accessibility minimums. To the point I've sat there and watched people make mistakes they can't even see, and then rely on their "tools" to fix them or point them out. Mistakes they wouldn't even make in the first huffing place if they just used a colour scheme that was, I dunno.... LEGIBLE?!?
I used light theme for several years before finally switching to dark theme. I still prefer white background in my terminal though.
White background and blue light aren't a good match for your eyes, especially during the night. You can tweak your screen settings or wear protective glasses to tackle this issue. However, those blue cut lenses can be a pretty expensive solution unless you're already wearing glasses. I guess that this depends on the county you're living in, and from what I've seen the prices vary greatly between Europe and USA.
I also prefer the dark background since syntax highlighting looks kind of better. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I never get why dark themes are so popular. Black text on white background is proven to be better for readability.

I use dark theme everywhere. OS, IDE, terminal. I don't like all dark themes though. I stay away from dark blue, brown etc. Only dark gray. I love the contrast especially with syntax highlighting. I've read that light themes provide better readability but I'm sticking to my dark themes.
