I believe almost all developers use GitHub to host public code repos. Running this poll to test my assumption.
So, what do you use? Let us know!
Thanks. :)
I use bitbucket.org because it is free for students. i.e. all its feature are available.
GitHub for open source. GitLab for private or closed. I would love to see GitLab replace GitHub for open source but there is just too much 3rd party vendor lock-in right now.
Github is pretty good. I think only is too expensive for larger plans.
GutHub ofc. There are so many big projects and kind developers who makes a free code review for you.
I'm currently using GitHub for pretty much everything... However, there is no denying all of the great features and additions coming out of GitLab. Here are some thorough SxS comparisons: technologyconversations.com/2015/10/16/github-vs-… upwork.com/hiring/development/gitlab-vs-github-ho…
GitHub: The single point of failure for the open source world.
I'm using GitHub because is the most big git repository and have a lot of people, projects and all the features that offers i think it's a really nice experience.

I make some bits of the web.
More detailed answer is BitBucket with some repos also pushed to Github for visibility (people conflate github and open source).
